Happy Undertaker 25 Day, friends! I meant to post these earlier, but I ended up having no time this week, so here they are, 3 hours in advance of the show itself! Woo!
Traditional Survivor Series Match
I am absolutely baffled as to why this match has just been thrown in as a mystery match.
So, er, maybe . . .
Sheamus, BNB, and New Day vs. The Usos, Dudley Boyz, and Neville? Maybe?
Roman Reigns vs. Alberto Del Rio
Well, er, every show needs a filler match, I guess? Okay, maybe that’s too mean. Reigns has improved vastly from where he was at this time last year, both in the eyes of fans and in the ring. Obviously his mic skills need a lot of work, and I just can’t see him as the face of the WWE when there are stars like Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose out there, but he’s got a lot of talent, that’s for sure.
Del Rio is, historically, solid in the ring, but his matches since his return have admittedly been full of botches and quite boring. The MexAmerica gimmick is honestly ridiculous in my opinion, and I think it’s keeping Del Rio from being the heel he can be.
The outcome of the match seems clear enough: Reigns over Del Rio. But I’m curious about how the match will actually be. This match, despite giving Del Rio a loss, could potentially give him some much-needed momentum.
Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens
I have a feeling this was the plan for Ambrose before Rollins’ injury: a feud with Owens for the Intercontinental title. But, in the wake of the title craziness, I think Ambrose is bound for bigger and better things than a losing feud to Owens, who is perfectly suited to hold the Intercontinental title.
This match will be an all-out brawl, and I have no doubt both will deliver.
Brothers of Destruction vs. Wyatt Family
There are two options for Creative here: the safe ending and the ending that needs to happen.
The last time Undertaker and Wyatt faced off, it was the Phenom who emerged victorious. Wyatt has been on the losing side of most of his feuds lately, so if the WWE wants him to remain a credible threat, he needs to be the one to come out on top. He needs it.
I also think Kane will be pivotal in keeping the action going. Undertaker’s performances are never certain these days, despite being incredibly impressive considering his age. But Kane is looking strong going into this, and I hope he will get a chance to regain some of the strength that made his character so interesting.
Tyler Breeze vs. Dolph Ziggler
I am so excited for this match, and so thrilled that Tyler Breeze will be able to introduce to ferocious aspect of his character on a platform like Survivor Series.
The outcome looks obvious to me: Breeze over Ziggler, this being his pay per view debut and all. I’m just curious as to how much aggression they will let Ziggler display. WWE notoriously misuses its NXT talent, with the exception of The Shield. Also, how much will Summer be involved?
Charlotte vs. Paige
Not taking the WWE’s questionable decision to include Charlotte’s late brother Reid in this feud into account, this match finally got some much-needed heat injected into it at RAW. It might be too late, but Charlotte and Paige are both strong performers and, if given enough time, are capable of telling a good story in the ring.
I can’t see Charlotte losing the belt in her first defense of it against a non-Bella. I’m merely curious to see if her character will develop any over the course of tonight’s event.
Also, could we perhaps have Sasha interfere and get a title shot of her own? Or maybe wait until Wrestlemania. 😉
Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose
I’m not gonna lie. I looked up other predictions to try and give me some kind of idea of what to say, and even then, I couldn’t find any solid predictions. I literally have no idea if WWE will go the safe way or the way I could only dream they would go.
The easy choice is Reigns. I don’t doubt he was going to finally take the title from Rollins before his injury. But, if he does win, will he emerge as the victorious babyface or turn heel against his former Shield brother?
And what if Dean wins? Will he betray Roman to do so, or will Roman turn heel and still not be able to overcome Ambrose?
Oh, and will Sheamus cash in? And if he does, could he pretty please fail?
Well, that’s all I’ve got for tonight. Agree or disagree with me? Let me know!
